Prut river's water level to increase in upper course

Chisinau, 5 May /MOLDPRES/. – The hydrological centre of the State Hydrometeorological Centre (SHS) today issued a forecast showing an increase in of the Prut river’s water level in the upper course (Ukraine) on the period 5-8 May.

The hydrological centre warns that, given the precipitation recorded in the upper course of the Hydrographic Basin of the Prut river (Ukraine) on the aforementioned period, the water level will increase by 0.5-1 metre against 5 May on the segment between Criva and Costesti-Stanca settlements.

According to hydrologists, the water will flow within the limits of the minor river bed.

SHS has forecast thunderstorm rains and a slight cooling of the weather for the days to come.
